Technology is amazing...it can be your best friend, or your worst enemy! Some days, it seems that it can be both. My knowledge of technology is growing every day. I feel fairly good about my skills in dealing with computers and most of the basic things we all use in our everyday lives. I have just recently been introduced to the promethean board, and I cannot say enough great things about it! It is making teaching and learning so much fun and the students love it. I'm very excited to continue to use the board and all the wonderful resources for it in conjuction with my lessons.
As for the future, I fully intend to continue to learn everything I can about using technology to enhance my teaching skills. I still have a lot to learn! I would have to say that my weakness in dealing with technology comes down to two things- fear and impatience. When it comes to learning something new, I'm usually afraid that I won't understand it, or that it will take too long to learn it. Although I admit to these weaknesses, I won't be controlled by them! New things are being introduced every day and I want to keep up with all the fabulous tools so that I can pass my knowledge on to the students. I certainly don't want my lack of understanding to hinder their progress.
Technology is here to stay, like it or not, and I am very excited to see what the next great thing will be!
